I believe every photograph has the power to preserve a moment, spark a conversation, and tell a story that words often cannot.

I'm Subramanya Shastry, though most people know me as Subbu. I'm a photographer, storyteller, and social entrepreneur based in Bengaluru. For more than a decade, I've travelled across India documenting people, cultures, traditions, landscapes, and the remarkable work of communities creating change from the ground up.

My photography is shaped by my work beyond the lens. As the Co Founder and CEO of Think Gudd Foundation, I work with nonprofits, governments, and social enterprises to build communication strategies and digital livelihood programmes that empower rural youth, women, artisans, farmers, and micro entrepreneurs. Those experiences have given me a deep appreciation for authentic stories and the people behind them.

Whether I'm photographing an ancient temple at sunrise, a bustling street market, a quiet village ritual, or a social innovator transforming lives, I'm always searching for moments that feel honest, timeless, and deeply human. My work spans travel, culture, heritage, documentary, wildlife, architecture, and social impact, with a focus on capturing emotion before perfection.

Photography, for me, is more than creating beautiful images. It's about preserving heritage, celebrating everyday lives, and inspiring people to see the world with greater curiosity and empathy. Every journey, every conversation, and every frame adds another chapter to that story.
